WIM Error Message Upon Opening Document Manager on Win 10 PCs

Solution

WIM Fix:
Error Message: There is an issue with the environment for the WIM. Ensure you have the AxDesktopWIMInterop.dll and it is the correct version. You will not be able to utilize the WIM until the issue is resolved and the connection have been established.

Error: Code = 80131700, Unknown error 0x80131700

Cause: This error is caused by Dot Net Framework 3.5/2 being disabled or uninstalled on Windows 10. This issue appears on all clean installs of Windows 10 as well as some upgrades such as the latest Windows 10 1607 upgrade.

Solution:
1. Verify that AppXtender is closed.
2. Open the Control Panel.
a. Press the Windows Key / Start Button.
b. Type Control Panel.
c. Press Enter or Click the Control Panel result.
3. In the upper right-hand corner, change the View by to Large icons or Small icons.
4. Find and click Programs and Features.
5. Within the left-hand navigation panel, click Turn Windows features on or off.
6. Check .NET Framework 3.5, if not already checked.
7. Click Ok then click Download files from Windows Update.
8. Click Close.
9. Open AppXtender and verify it is working correctly.
